Joe Lampe, AICP
Joe is an urban planner specializing in freight transportation and climate change resilience solutions. He has spent the past decade working for some of the leading planning and engineering consulting firms in the United States. He has supported communities and public agencies to develop innovative and transformative strategies in transportation policy, climate change adaptation, community and stakeholder engagement, and economic development.
Joe’s work focuses on the nexus between the built and natural environments. He continues to work hand-in-hand with his clients, meeting them where they are to learn and truly understand the challenges that they face. From the hills of Pennsylvania to the mountains of Montana, the coasts of the Pacific Islands to the cities of Europe, Joe continues his work to develop equitable transportation systems, safer cities, and more prepared, resilient communities around the world.
Joe earned his Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP), the Climigration Network, and is a member of the TRB Urban Freight Transportation Committee.
Joe hails from Pittsburgh, PA, a working-class town known for its steel, sports, and resilient spirit.
When not supporting his clients, Joe can be found exploring new places with his wife, in the mountains, out on his bike, or catching up with friends.
